API3 is an oracle project founded in 2020 that lets data providers operate their own on-chain feeds instead of relying on third-party node operators. Its first-party model shortens the path between the source and the smart contract and adds transparency about who signed a value. The project also builds a service that returns maximal extractable value from oracle updates to the applications using them.
