Bancor launched one of the first automated market makers in 2017 and pioneered the constant-function liquidity pool model now standard in decentralised exchanges. The protocol later introduced single-sided liquidity provision and impermanent loss protection mechanisms. It is maintained by the BProtocol Foundation with a development team working on successive protocol versions.
