Coincheck is a Japanese digital asset exchange founded in 2012 and headquartered in Tokyo. It offers spot trading, an NFT marketplace and staking services under a licence from the Japanese Financial Services Agency. Following a major security incident in 2018 the company was acquired by the financial group Monex and rebuilt its custody and risk controls before listing in the United States.
