Digital Diagnostics created the first autonomous diagnostic artificial intelligence cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration, for diabetic retinopathy screening. Founded in 2010 by ophthalmologist Michael Abramoff, its LumineticsCore system makes a diagnosis without a specialist reviewing the image. The company has since extended into skin and ear conditions.
