Overview
EigenLayer is a restaking protocol founded in 2021 by Eigen Labs in Seattle. It lets Ethereum stakers reuse their staked collateral to secure additional services such as data availability layers, oracles and bridges. The model introduced a shared security marketplace and attracted one of the largest deposit bases in decentralised finance shortly after launch.
