ELKEME

ELKEME, the Hellenic Research Centre for Metals, is an industrial research and technology center based at Oinofyta, north of Athens, that serves the Greek metals industry through laboratories covering aluminium, copper, steel and zinc. Founded in 1999 to support the Hellenic metallurgical industry, it works with Viohalco group companies such as ElvalHalcor, Hellenic Cables and Corinth Pipeworks on materials testing, simulation, process optimization and research projects. Its own staff are mainly metallurgists, materials and simulation engineers and research scientists who carry out testing, failure analysis and applied research for group plants and outside clients.
