Emulsion Flow Technologies

Emulsion Flow Technologies develops and commercializes a solvent-extraction process called "Emulsion Flow" to recover rare metals from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. Spun out from the Japan Atomic Energy Agency in April 2021, the company focuses on high-purity, cost-efficient recovery that enables horizontal recycling so recovered metals can be directly reused in battery manufacturing. It targets the clean-energy supply chain by securing stable supplies of critical rare metals essential for the transition to a carbon-neutral society.
