Overview
The Free Churches Group is a UK ecumenical body based in London that brings together the Free Churches of England and Wales, such as Methodist, Baptist, United Reformed and Pentecostal churches, to coordinate shared work and representation. Its legal body is the Free Church Federal Council, a registered charity established in 1940, and it supports chaplaincy in prisons, hospitals and the armed forces, religious education through SACREs, and rural church networks. It is a small organisation led by a moderator with a handful of staff, working with other national church bodies on chaplaincy, education and public policy.
