Overview
Kopter Group is a Swiss helicopter manufacturer based in Wetzikon near Zurich, developing the AW09, a single-engine multirole helicopter originally launched as the SH09, for passenger transport, utility, medical and law enforcement missions. Part of Leonardo since April 2020, the company remains an autonomous legal entity and acts as the group's competence centre for new light helicopters and hybrid or electric propulsion. Its work covers design, certification and customer support for the AW09, which is marketed through distributors such as Metro Aviation in Canada and the US, Sloane Helicopters in the UK and Ireland and Helitech Asia, and it also has a German subsidiary, Kopter Germany.
