Kyocera is a Kyoto technology group founded in 1959 that began with fine ceramic components for electronics. Today it supplies semiconductor packages, electronic components, printing devices, industrial tools and communications equipment, and runs a large solar energy business. The company is known in management circles for the amoeba organisational system created by its founder Kazuo Inamori.
