Overview
LG Corporation is the holding company of the South Korean LG group, founded in 1947 by Koo In-hwoi as Lak Hui Chemical Industrial and expanded into electronics in the following decade. Its major subsidiaries cover consumer and commercial electronics through LG Electronics, petrochemicals and battery materials through LG Chem, electric vehicle batteries through LG Energy Solution, display panels through LG Display and telecommunications through LG Uplus. The group has repositioned around what it calls the ABC portfolio of artificial intelligence, biotechnology and clean technology, and develops the EXAONE family of foundation models through its own AI research institute.
