Overview
Meatex is a British business-to-business trading platform for meat and surplus, frozen and chilled food, offering an open marketplace, online auctions, a meat price index and an industry recruitment service, with its head office in Seaford near Eastbourne. It was founded in 2012 by Tony Vardy, a meat industry veteran who started as an apprentice butcher, and operates a wholesale trading office in Cork, Ireland, and a seafood and frozen food factory in Grimsby. Its own staff work in food trading, sales and operations, handling beef, lamb, pork, poultry, game, fish, offal and pet food lines for trade buyers and sellers.
