Overview
Norton Sound Health Corporation is a tribally owned and operated, independent nonprofit health organisation based in Nome, Alaska, serving the Inupiat, Siberian Yupik and Yupik people of the Bering Strait region. Founded in 1970, it runs the Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome together with village clinics, emergency medical services, behavioural health, dental, laboratory and in-home programmes across the region's remote communities. It hires community health aide and dental assistant trainees for villages such as Savoonga, Shishmaref and Brevig Mission, plus maintenance technicians, security officers, kitchen, payroll, procurement and finance staff.
