Overview
PALCI, the Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation, is a nonprofit consortium of academic and research libraries that runs shared collections, collaborative licensing, resource sharing and reciprocal borrowing programs for its members. It was formed in 1996 as the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, a grassroots federation of 35 academic libraries in Pennsylvania, and has since grown to more than 80 member institutions, operating the EZBorrow service and a shared index. Governed by its member libraries, it is run by a small central staff that coordinates group licensing, shared print programs and professional development events.
