Overview
The Power & Light District is a mixed-use entertainment, dining and residential district in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, developed by The Cordish Companies of Baltimore and named after the 1931 Kansas City Power and Light Building. Construction began in 2004 and its first venue, McFadden's Sports Saloon, opened in November 2007; today it hosts bars and restaurants such as Pizza Bar, Palm Tree Club and Guy Fieri's Dive Bar and Taco Joint, live events and apartment buildings including One Light and Midland Lofts. It hires cooks, dishwashers, bartenders, food runners, executive chefs, general managers and apartment maintenance staff.
