Simplot Australia is the Australian and New Zealand food business of the US-based J.R. Simplot Company, making and marketing frozen, canned and chilled foods under brands such as Birds Eye, Edgell, John West, Leggo's, I&J, Chiko, Harvest and Chicken Tonight, with its head office in Mentone, Victoria. J.R. Simplot acquired the brands in 1995 to enter the Australian market, and the business runs processing plants in Bathurst, Devonport, Echuca, Kelso and Ulverstone and supplies retail and foodservice customers. Its workforce spans food processing and plant maintenance, supply chain, sales, marketing and finance roles across its plants and head office.
