Thuraya is a mobile satellite services operator founded in the United Arab Emirates in 1997 and now part of the Space42 group. It runs its own geostationary satellites and sells handheld satellite phones, maritime terminals and internet of things trackers used where terrestrial networks do not reach. Its customers include energy, maritime, humanitarian and defence organisations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
