Overview
Vodafone is a British telecommunications group whose mobile business was launched in 1985 and demerged as an independent company in 1991, growing through the 1990s into one of the largest mobile operators in the world. After years of retrenchment it now concentrates on Germany, the United Kingdom following its merger with Three, and a set of other European markets, alongside a substantial African business built around M-Pesa mobile money and a business division selling connectivity and internet of things services to corporate customers. Headquartered in Newbury and listed in London, it operates the world's largest managed internet of things connectivity platform.
