Overview
Xona Space Systems is a Burlingame, California-based company building Pulsar, a commercial positioning, navigation and timing service delivered by a constellation of small satellites in low Earth orbit as a more precise and secure complement to GPS. The planned Pulsar constellation of 258 small satellites at 1,080 km altitude broadcasts a new signal aimed at defense, telecom, agriculture, aviation, maritime, autonomous robotics and financial timing users, and the company builds its satellites in its own production facility. It hires GNC, GNSS, RF, FPGA, flight dynamics and mechanical engineers, flight software and cybersecurity engineers, production planners and a chief financial officer.
