Yi Foundation Models

Yi is the open weight foundation model family released by the Chinese laboratory 01.AI. Its bilingual models covering Chinese and English were among the strongest open releases of their generation and were widely fine tuned by developers outside China. The laboratory behind them was founded by the computer scientist and venture investor Kai-Fu Lee; its releases were among the most downloaded open bilingual models on public model hubs, and the company also serves enterprise customers in China through its own cloud platform and partner channels.
