The role is responsible for coordinating engineering activities, providing technical direction, and ensuring designs and deliverables meet project requirements for safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Working closely with the Project Team, engineering contractors, and vendors, the Mechanical Engineering Lead supports the successful delivery of the project from engineering through procurement, construction and commissioning. This is a rotational, site-based role based in Northern Saskatchewan.\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead mechanical engineering activities for the Wheeler River Project, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements \nProvide mechanical engineering expertise and technical input to project strategy, standards, processes, and plans\nCollaborate with the project team and engineering contractors to ensure engineering deliverables meet scope, cost, schedule, quality, and value requirements \nDevelop and maintain relationships with key equipment vendors and service providers \nProvide technical assurance and review of mechanical engineering work completed by engineering firms, vendors, and service providers\nParticipate in HAZOP and other risk evaluation activities\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to project personnel on mechanical design, engineering methods, and applicable codes and standards\nAct as a Technical Authority when appointed\nRequirements\nYou are an experienced mechanical engineer with strong technical, leadership, and communication skills, and a proven ability to deliver complex engineering work in a collaborative project environment. In addition, you have:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering\nEligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan\n7+ years of progressive engineering and/or leadership experience\nStrong knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering practices, standards, and design processes\nExperience in uranium, mining, heavy industrial, or similar environments is considered an asset\nExperience across the equipment design lifecycle, including specifications, procurement, vendor engineering, and design review\nStrong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to build effective relationships with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and internal teams\nStrong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality engineering solutions\nBenefits\nAll applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
