Reporting to the Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager, this role will support general ledger accounting, monthly financial close activities, account reconciliations, and financial analysis across multiple company entities.\nThe ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, enjoys researching discrepancies, and can manage competing priorities while meeting important deadlines. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to accurate financial reporting, strengthen accounting processes, and collaborate with teams across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nGeneral Ledger & Month-End Close\nPrepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries with accurate supporting documentation.\nComplete assigned month-end close activities in accordance with established deadlines and the close calendar.\nRecord intercompany transactions and assist with reconciling intercompany balances across company entities.\nAccruals & Prepaid Expenses\nCalculate and record monthly accruals, including carrier and freight costs, payroll, and operating expenses.\nMonitor and reverse accruals as invoices are received, adjusting estimates to reflect actual expenses.\nMaintain prepaid expense and amortization schedules to support accurate financial reporting.\nAccount Reconciliations\nPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts.\nResearch and resolve reconciling items promptly, escalating aged, unusual, or complex discrepancies as needed.\nMaintain clear documentation to support account balances and ensure compliance with accounting procedures.\nFinancial Research & Analysis\nInvestigate account activity, financial variances, and discrepancies, documenting findings and recommended resolutions.\nPrepare flux analyses and explain month-over-month and budget-to-actual variances for assigned accounts.\nExtract and analyze data from the ERP and other financial systems to support reporting, decision-making, and ad hoc requests.\nAudit, Compliance & Process Improvement\nPrepare supporting schedules and documentation for annual external audits and tax filings.\nFollow established internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.\nAssist in developing and updating standard operating procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.\nCollaborate with shared services and operations teams to resolve transaction coding questions and accounting discrepancies.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n2–3 years of general ledger accounting experience.\nWorking knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.\nIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and working with large data sets.\nExperience using an ERP platform or accounting system.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting month-end close deadlines.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.\nExperience in transportation, logistics, or another high-transaction-volume industry.\nExperience supporting external audits, tax filings, or accounting process improvements.\nWhat Makes You a Great Fit?\nDetail-oriented: You take ownership of your work and prioritize accuracy in financial records and reporting.\nAnalytical: You enjoy investigating discrepancies, identifying trends, and understanding the story behind the numbers.\nPersistent problem-solver: You follow issues through to resolution and know when to escalate concerns.\nCollaborative: You communicate findings clearly and work effectively with colleagues across Finance, Operations, and shared services.\nGrowth-minded: You are eager to learn, improve processes, and expand your accounting knowledge.\nWhy Join MODE Global?\nAt MODE Global, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, growing transportation organization while working alongside a team committed to collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nJoin us and help support the financial accuracy and operational excellence that drive our business forward.\nReady to take the next step in your accounting career?
