We are a rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, designing, building, and testing proof-of-concept and prototype vehicles. We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 41-year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.\n Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nWork closely with Contracts department, during contract award, to fully understand the contracted scope of work to be performed.\nDevelop an earned value reporting process in order to meet program requirements\nDevelop and maintain production schedules for complex aerospace systems\nEnsure alignment between manufacturing capacity and program timelines \nSupport bids and proposals by providing accurate cost estimates \nTrack actual costs vs. planned costs and identify variances\nForecast labor, material, and equipment needs based on program requirements\nDevelop strategies to mitigate bottlenecks and ensure on-time delivery\nCollaborate with the Project Engineer and shop lead to generate and maintain a schedule, with clearly defined milestones; adjust the budget and schedule to reflect any contractual changes\nSupport the Project Engineer in monitoring and negotiating the engineering and shop staffing with regard to the right skills and number of people assigned to the project\nProvide the Project Engineer and Management with a health visibility report at established intervals as required or requested\nClearly communicate the project health to Management and the project’s external customer\nVerify (check and balance system) that the technical requirements of the contract are being fulfilled, and if not discuss with the Project Engineer and Management as required\nAdvise and review all Business Analyst deliverables specific to their project\nManage resources for the implementation of project-related activities\nExcellent planning skills to include the ability to anticipate and prepare for challenges and obstacles\nImprovise and re-baseline as needed\nTrack all expenditures, materials, subcontracts, etc., as requested by Management or required by the contract\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 6 years relevant experience or Master’s Degree and 4 years relevant experience \nProven experience in MS Project scheduling, including creating, updating, and analyzing complex project schedules. \nExperience working in a SAP environment \nAbility to see the whole picture and understand what it will take to complete a project within cost and schedule\nExceptional organizational skills \nAbility to develop and analyze data, and present findings to customers and management\nStrong analytical problem solving skills and ability to implement sound critical thinking skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project\nAbility to implement budgeting concepts\nExperience with earned value reporting\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance\nPreferred Skills and Qualifications:\nAdvanced MS Project skills, including resource leveling, critical path analysis, and schedule risk management. \nFamiliarity with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and maintenance. \nKnowledge of scheduling best practices in aerospace or defense programs.\nEssential Job Functions:\nRequires mobility and the ability to bend and reach \nMay infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds. \nManual dexterity and coordination are required;
