We offer one of the industry’s widest portfolios of power options, including 100% battery-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, and clean diesel.\nENC is committed to revitalizing American manufacturing through innovation, customer focus, and the delivery of high-quality vehicles that keep communities connected, supported, and moving forward.\nAftermarket Technical Engineer, Field Service\nLocation: Riverside, CA\nSalary Range: $95,000-120,000/yr.\nReports to: Warranty Manager \nPosition Summary\nThe Field Service Engineer role is responsible for supporting the Service Department through technical engineering expertise assistance on complex issues helping drive solution, service documentation, and product improvement initiatives while serving as a technical liaison between Engineering, Warranty, Production, and Field Service operations. The Field Service Engineer will assist with service-related drawings, schematics, and field-driven improvement solutions while also providing technical support to field technicians on an as-needed basis during complex troubleshooting situations or when additional engineering assistance is required. The role will also work collaboratively with Sr. Technical Specialist to resolve concerns as well as the Field Service Trainer to support development of technical training material and service documentation as needed.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide technical engineering support to field service technicians on an as-needed basis during complex troubleshooting or repair situations, stepping in on escalated issues when troubleshooting goes beyond the field team\nAssist with diagnosis and engineering evaluation of mechanical, electrical, multiplex, and high-voltage vehicle systems when elevated technical support is required\nWork directly with the Sr. Technical Specialist on complex issues\nDevelop, revise, and support engineering drawings, schematics, layouts, brackets, and service-related design improvements\nHelp lead root cause analysis and ensure implementation, supporting corrective action investigations related to recurring field concerns and warranty trends\nLead troubleshooting activities involving repeat failures, complex system-level issues, and unclear root causes, developing effective engineering solutions for real-world application.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Warranty, Production, and Service teams to improve vehicle reliability, serviceability, and product support\nAssist with development and review of technical service bulletins, troubleshooting guides, repair procedures, and service documentation\nWork collaboratively with the Field Service Trainer to support development of technical training material, presentations, manuals, videos, and customer support documentation as needed\nParticipate in customer support visits, technical meetings, prototype reviews, and field campaigns when required\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing vehicle downtime and improving customer satisfaction\nReview field feedback and provide recommendations for product improvements and service enhancements\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, engineering revisions, and support records\nSupport special projects and other engineering-related service initiatives as assigned\nPosition Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field \nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in engineering, technical support, field service, heavy-duty vehicle or related industry experience \nExperience supporting troubleshooting, product improvements, warranty support, root cause analysis or serviceability initiatives \nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.\nKnowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, suspension, door, multiplex, and powertrain systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.\nValid driver's license required\nAbility to obtain and maintain any required certifications or training related to vehicle systems, high-voltage systems, or customer site access requirements\nAbility to occasionally travel in support of customer visits, field activities, and technical meetings.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience within the heavy-duty vehicle, transit bus, commercial vehicle, or OEM manufacturing environment\nExperience supporting field repairs, reliability improvements, or serviceability enhancement initiatives \nAbility to develop practical engineering solutions to support field repairs and serviceability improvements.\nFamiliarity with CAN/J1939 diagnostics and vehicle communication networks \nFamiliarity with heavy-duty vehicle electrical and multiplex systems\nUnderstanding of high-voltage and battery-electric vehicle systems\nFamiliarity with CAD or drafting software \nWork Environment:\nThis is an onsite position based in Riverside, CA\nTravel frequency approximately up to 30% depending on field concerns \n Benefits:\nComprehensive benefits package: Medical (including FSA & HSA), dental, vision, life and disability insurance, EAP, mental health, and wellness programs\n401(k) with employer match\nPaid time off and twelve (12) paid holidays\nEmployee referral program\nCareer growth and development opportunities\nCareer Growth at ENC\nWe believe great careers and leaders are built from within.
