We offer one of the industry’s widest portfolios of power options, including 100% battery-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, and clean diesel. \nENC is committed to revitalizing American manufacturing through innovation, customer focus, and the delivery of high-quality vehicles that keep communities connected, supported, and moving forward. \nEngineer I, Body\nLocation: Riverside, CA\nSalary Range: $71,000 - $85,000\nPosition Summary\nResponsible for assisting with the design, development, implementation, and analysis of components and assemblies pertaining to the interior and exterior of heavy-duty vehicles, specifically transit buses. Performs simple and routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques. Assists senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, and drawings. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssists senior engineers with the design, development, implementation, and analysis of components and assemblies pertaining to the interior and exterior of heavy-duty vehicles (i.e. transit buses).\nUses CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to aid in the development of the design of body components (body skins, stanchions, seats, etc.) to model new designs, and to produce detailed engineering drawings.\nAids in fulfilling customer requirements (i.e. work orders) considering design specifications and applications.\nExecute engineering changes through established ECN (engineering change notice) processes and documentation.\nSupports the creation and review of material part specifications and BOM’s (bills of materials).\nAssists with delivering complete engineering packages emphasizing efficiency in the manufacturing process.\nGain understanding of manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies.\nSupport the definition of test requirements and learn to interpret test results to validate designs.\nOwns small scale body interior & exterior design projects and reviews.\nGain familiarity of standards adhered to in the transit industry and applicable to bus body (i.e. FMVSS & APTA White Book).\nLearn to identify problems, root causes and be able to define & execute resolutions.\nGain understanding of lean principles as they apply to manufacturing and business processes.\nPosition Requirements\nBachelor's Degree of Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education required.\n0 - 2 years of related experience.\nCAD software experience (i.e. Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).\nWorking knowledge of GD&T and various manufacturing processes.\nInterest in research and development of the interiors and exteriors of heavy-duty vehicles.\nSkilled in computer simulation, cost estimation, design optimization, design review, engineering analysis & design, feasibility study, mathematical analysis & modeling, prototyping, quality assurance process and reliability analysis.\nInterest in research and development of vehicle body interiors & exteriors.\nExperience with statistical techniques and data analysis.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work directly with hourly production employees and leadership concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.\nStrong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.\nVersatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to stay on task.\nAbility to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong and consistent attention to detail.\nCreative and innovative team player.\nAbility to use sound judgment and make timely decisions.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.\nSolid PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts and other written or verbal instructions.\nCapable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees in the organization.\nWork Environment\nThis is an onsite position based in Riverside, CA and requires being onsite.\nBenefits\nComprehensive benefits package: Medical (including FSA & HSA), dental, vision, life and disability insurance, EAP, mental health, and wellness programs \n401(k) with employer match \nPaid time off and twelve (12) paid holidays \nEmployee referral program \nCareer growth and development opportunities \nCareer Growth at ENC\nWe believe great careers and leaders are built from within.
