We offer one of the industry’s widest portfolios of power options, including 100% battery-electric, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, and clean diesel.\nENC is committed to revitalizing American manufacturing through innovation, customer focus, and the delivery of high-quality vehicles that keep communities connected, supported, and moving forward.\n Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)\nLocation: Riverside, CA\nSalary Range: $95,000 - $130,000/year.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the quality of products and services provided by suppliers meets established specifications and standards. This includes performing audits, managing supplier quality issues, developing improvement plans, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.\n Key Responsibilities:\nAssist in the evaluation and selection of suppliers based on quality performance, production capabilities, and cost efficiency.\nConduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure quality systems meet company requirements.\nPerform regular supplier audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.\nDevelop and implement quality control plans to monitor supplier performance.\nCollaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and provide guidance on improvement processes.\nProblem Resolution & Root Cause Analysis:\nInvestigate and resolve supplier quality issues, including product defects or failures.\nLead or support root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams) and corrective action processes for non-conformances.\nCollaborate with suppliers to ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.\nWork closely with suppliers to improve their quality systems, processes, and product quality.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other methodologies.\nDevelop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, specifications, and reports.\nMonitor and report supplier performance metrics (e.g., supplier scorecards, defect rates, on-time delivery).\nDocument non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions taken.\nCollaborate with internal teams such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D to ensure that supplier quality aligns with company standards.\nProvide quality input during new product development and product lifecycle management.\nTrack and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.\nCoordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials and components.\nPosition Requirements:\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) or equivalent experience.\nAt least 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management.\nExperience with supplier audits, inspections, and quality control processes.\nStrong knowledge of quality control methodologies, standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant industry standards).\nProficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.\nExperience with statistical tools (SPC, DOE) and quality software systems (e.g., SAP, Minitab, etc.).\nStrong communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.\nProblem-solving and analytical thinking.\nAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.\nWillingness to travel to supplier locations, as required.\nPreferred:\nASQ (American Society for Quality) certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA) are a plus.\nWork Environment:\nTypically works in an office setting with occasional travel to supplier facilities or manufacturing sites.\nMay require extended hours or availability based on project deadlines or urgent supplier issues.\nBenefits:\nComprehensive benefits package: Medical (including FSA & HSA), dental, vision, life and disability insurance, EAP, mental health, and wellness programs\n401(k) with employer match\nPaid time off and twelve (12) paid holidays\nEmployee referral program\nCareer growth and development opportunities\nCareer Growth at ENC\nWe believe great careers and leaders are built from within.
