As a Lab Engineer, you will build and configure test setups with integrated PV systems, batteries, heat pumps, and EV chargers. Alongside maintaining and calibrating test equipment, you will develop testing procedures for OEM component compatibility within the Heartbeat platform. Your role also involves providing 3rd-level support, documenting procedures and results, offering guidance to lower-level support teams, and contributing to the improvement of testing methodologies at our Berlin lab.\nKey responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nPlanning and execution of development-related tests with hardware for an integrated energy control platform\n\nOEM and feature integrations: technical exploration with cross-functional teams; coordination and execution of system integration testing\n\nRelease testing: test conception, coordination, and execution\n\nDesign and construction of test benches; assemble and configure setups that simulate single-home environments (PV, battery, heat pump, EV charger)\n\nDefinition of test KPIs, documentation and evaluation of results\n\nDevelop and improve lab testing software, test automation, methodologies, and procedures\n\nGuide junior lab engineers in daily tasks and support their technical and professional development through mentoring\n\nYour profile\nThe successful candidate will have:\nCompleted studies in electrical engineering or mechatronics, 4+ years of experience in assembly, testing, or maintenance of electrical systems, preferably in renewable energy\n\nElektrofachkraft (EFK) qualification and proficiency reading electrical schematics and technical documentation\n\nHands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers\n\nExperience collaborating with development, support teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues\n\nValid driver’s license Class B\n\nStrong documentation skills, with the ability to record and communicate test procedures, results, and best practices\n\nFluency in English and German, both written and verbal\n\nBonus points for:\nFamiliar with state of the art AI development using Tools like Claude Code, Cursor and other development tools\n\nWe are an ambitious and dynamic company with a talented team.
