We focus on creating secure, scalable, and highly automated environments that enable engineering and operations teams to move quickly and reliably.\nEndpoint & device infrastructure are critical to how 1X develops, deploys, and operates robotics systems across engineering labs, manufacturing floors, and corporate environments.\nYour Charter\nOwn and scale the device management infrastructure across 1X’s rapidly growing robotics organization. This role is responsible for building secure, automated, and reliable Endpoint fleet management solutions that support engineering productivity, operational scalability, and strong security posture across development and production environments.\nKey Outcomes\nDesign and scale device management systems supporting engineering, robotics, and operational environments across the company\n\nImprove fleet reliability, security, and operational efficiency through automation, centralized management, and configuration standardization\n\nDevelop scalable provisioning, patch management, compliance, and monitoring workflows across device endpoints and infrastructure\n\nPartner cross-functionally with Security, IT, Robotics, and Infrastructure teams to improve endpoint security and operational readiness\n\nReduce manual operational overhead by implementing automation tooling, self-service workflows, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies\n\nKey Competencies\nDeep expertise managing endpoints and infrastructure at scale\n\nStrong automation and scripting skills using Python, Bash, or similar tooling\n\nExperience with configuration management and device orchestration platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt\n\nStrong understanding of endpoint security, patch management, compliance, and systems hardening best practices\n\nExcellent troubleshooting and operational problem-solving skills across distributed systems environments\n\nMinimum Requirements\n5+ years of experience in Endpoint systems engineering, device management, infrastructure engineering, or related technical domains\n\nStrong hands-on experience administering Endpoint systems in enterprise or production environments\n\nExperience with device provisioning, endpoint management, systems automation, and configuration management tooling\n\nStrong scripting/programming experience using Python, Bash, or equivalent languages\n\nExperience supporting cloud infrastructure environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience supporting robotics, manufacturing, operational technology (OT), or hardware engineering environments\n\nFamiliarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity management, and device trust frameworks\n\nExperience with CI/CD systems, developer infrastructure, or Kubernetes environments\n\nExposure to zero trust security principles and infrastructure compliance frameworks\n\nExperience operating in high-growth startup environments\n\nWhat does a successful 1X Team Member look like\nTeam members at 1X who thrive here are builders.
