We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.\nAbout the Team\nThe Prototyping team turns ideas into physical reality.\nWe work closely with Industrial Design and Engineering to rapidly develop, build, and evaluate the physical systems and components that make up NEO. Our work spans digital models, functional prototypes, mockups, fabrication, materials, and production-intent assemblies.\nWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to develop and validate electrical prototypes for NEO. You will work with engineers and technicians to turn electrical designs into physical builds, test what works, and resolve what does not before designs move forward.\nThis is a hands-on role for someone who can move between design, assembly, testing, and debugging, and who cares about how electrical systems are built as much as how they work on paper.\nYour Charter\nDevelop and validate electrical prototypes and harnessing solutions for NEO, working with the Prototyping team to turn designs into reliable, buildable hardware.\nYou will bridge the gap between electrical design and physical builds, using what you learn from prototypes, testing, and rework to improve the next iteration.\nKey Outcomes\nDevelop electrical prototypes, wire harnesses, and cable assembly designs that support testing and iteration on NEO.\n\nTranslate schematics and wiring diagrams into clear build documentation, and work with technicians to resolve issues found during assembly.\n\nPlan and run continuity and fault-isolation testing, identifying opens, shorts, and connection issues before hardware moves downstream.\n\nDebug issues on prototypes and on the robot, then make practical design or documentation changes based on what you find.\n\nImprove recurring builds through better documentation, fixturing, and design-for-manufacturability work with the wider team.\n\nPartner across engineering and fabrication to move from early prototypes toward reliable, repeatable assemblies.\n\nKey Competencies\nElectrical design and prototyping: You can turn electrical requirements into schematics, wiring documentation, and testable physical builds.\nDiagnostic instinct: You isolate connection and circuit faults methodically and use test results to guide the next design iteration.\nBuild awareness: You understand how choices in routing, connections, and documentation affect assembly, rework, and reliability.\nCollaboration: You work closely with technicians and other engineers, taking feedback from physical builds back into the design.\nMinimum Requirements\n3-7 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related hands-on hardware development role.\n\nExperience developing and debugging electrical prototypes, harnesses, or cable assemblies.\n\nAbility to read and create electrical schematics and wiring documentation.\n\nExperience using measurement tools to test continuity and diagnose electrical faults.\n\nExperience working with technicians or fabrication partners to build, test, and iterate on hardware.\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with on-robot electrical debugging and rework.\n\nFamiliarity with IPC-620 acceptance criteria or IPC-7711 / 7722 rework standards.\n\nExperience improving harness builds through fixturing, documentation, or design-for-manufacturability work.\n\nFamiliarity with power, signal, shielding, and grounding considerations in physical assemblies.\n\nWhat does a successful 1X Team Member look like:\nTeam members at 1X who thrive here are builders.
