Mobile and web apps built by this team are used to deploy, monitor, and manage humanoid robots in the real world; provide operational visibility; and give consumers an easy way to use their Neo in their home.\nYour Charter\nBuild customer frontend experiences, starting with the 1X fleet management platform. You will design and develop intuitive, high-performance web applications and work with the backend team to build flexible platform APIs for developer use. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and operational success of every robot deployed by 1X.\nKey Outcomes\nDesign and deliver highly performant frontend applications that provide real-time visibility and control of robots, both individual and fleets.\n\nBuild intuitive dashboards and customizable workflows that are simple to use.\n\nImprove application performance, responsiveness, and usability while maintaining high engineering quality and reliability.\n\nPartner closely with Backend, Product, Design, and Core teams to deliver scalable user experiences that support rapidly growing robot deployments.\n\nEstablish frontend architecture, component libraries, and engineering best practices that enable rapid product development across the platform.\n\nKey Competencies\nDeep expertise building modern frontend applications with exceptional attention to usability and performance.\n\nStrong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and scalable application design.\n\nAbility to simplify complex operational data into intuitive user experiences.\n\nExcellent collaboration skills across software engineering, design, and product teams.\n\nComfortable leading technical initiatives and operating independently in a fast-moving startup environment.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience developing complex web applications.\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nStrong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend frameworks.\n\nExperience building data-intensive dashboards, operational tooling, or enterprise web applications.\n\nExperience integrating REST APIs, GraphQL, or real-time data streams into production applications.\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience building fleet management, observability, monitoring, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or operational tooling.\n\nExperience with real-time data visualization using WebSockets, gRPC, or event-driven architectures.\n\nFamiliarity with robotics platforms, autonomous systems, IoT devices, or industrial automation.\n\nExperience building reusable design systems and component libraries, including familiarity with mobile or cross-platform development.\n\nExperience with cloud-native environments such as AWS, Kubernetes, or distributed systems.\n\nWhat does a successful 1X Team Member look like:\nTeam members at 1X who thrive here are builders.
