Working within the Technology & Innovation Laboratory, this position is responsible for formulating, testing, and evaluating advanced coating systems and raw materials. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring solutions from concept through commercialization. This role requires a strong foundation in chemistry, creativity in problem-solving, and a passion for scientific excellence.\nResponsibilities\nWork in cross-functional teams to develop new coatings technologies and evaluate new polymers \nDesign and execute experiments for paints and coatings formulations and testing to meet targeted objectives\nDocument and summarize experimental results in electronic lab notebooks \nAnalyze data, report results, and recommend next steps\nUse analytical tools to solve problems and find solutions\nParticipate in plant scale ups\nCollaborate with Procurement for evaluating new and alternate materials\nManage raw materials for the lab\nMaintain lab equipment and shared work space\nOther duties as assigned \nQualifications\nBS in Chemistry or related field\nTwo or more years of working experience in a chemistry lab\nKnowledge of paint, coatings, and related raw materials\nEfficient at summarizing technical data and presenting results\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nCapable of working on multiple projects simultaneously\nSelf-starter and ability to take initiative and drive toward results\nAttention to detail and scientific rigor\nComfortable working in teams, sharing data, and communicating effectively\nExtremely organized\nMinimum Requirements:\n Physical effort and dexterity: This role can entail some amount of lifting (40-50lbs)\n Environment and scheduling: This role can involve scale-ups at manufacturing facilities that may be hot or cold depending on the time of year. In these instances, more noise may be encountered (noise protection is supplied). Chemicals are used in the polymer making process (proper PPE is outlined and supplied).
