Northern Star continues to invest in building a strong asset base through strategic acquisitions and aggressive exploration to extend the mine lives across its world-class operations and generate earning accretive value for its Shareholders through operational effectiveness.\nWhat do we offer?\n- Vibrant hub of activity on site, with the ability to be part of successful and productive team\n- Permanent position and extended mine-life offering job security.\n- Excellent remuneration package with bonuses, insurances, 401k and paid leave.\n- Ongoing development opportunities and growth within a company that continuously invest in their people.\nWhat’s the role?\nThe Mining Engineer reports to the Senior Mining Engineer, and is primarilyaccountable for providing, communicating, and implementing underground mine designs and schedules for Pogo Mine consistent with safe practices, government regulations, and production targets.\nThe specifics:\nGenerating and implementing underground drift and fill stope designs\nGenerating short- and medium-termproduction schedules\nPresenting weekly production schedules to mine operations and geology departments\nEstablishing and monitoring mine ventilation network designs\nEstablishing and implementing paste backfill designs\nEstablishing and implementing ground control and support designs\nPerforming financial evaluations and cost analyses for operating and capital project justification\nIdentifying, communicating and assisting to resolve safety hazards\nPerforming other duties and projects as assigned\nOther duties as required.\nQualifications Required \nBachelor's degree in mining engineering or another related field\nCurrent Driver'sLicense.\nMust pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.\nDesired Experience & Competencies\nPrefer two years of technical experience in underground mining or tunneling.\nPrefer experience and/or training in VentSim, Deswick, MineVulcanor other mine design software package.\nKnowledge of underground mining methods and appropriate planning techniques.\nDisplay a clear commitment to safety, health and responsible environmental management\nGood communication skills.\nAwareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations.\nWorking a 15 day on, 13 day off rotating schedule up to 12.0 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.\nEmployees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi.
