The Commodity Manager develops and executes commodity strategies that support IEM's manufacturing, supply chain, and operational goals. This role manages assigned suppliers, pricing, contracts, performance, and risk to ensure material availability, cost competitiveness, quality, and on-time delivery. \nThe ideal candidate has experience with electrical components and can implement supplier and commodity actions within defined scope without requiring Engineering involvement for every decision. This position reports into our VP of Supply Chain. \nPlease note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Franklin, TN office and does not offer remote work. \nKey Responsibilities \nDevelop and execute commodity strategies that support cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and business continuity goals. \nManage supplier relationships, including selection, negotiations, performance reviews, scorecards, corrective actions, and long-term supplier development. \nLead sourcing, cost reduction, supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and supply risk mitigation initiatives. \nPartner with Procurement, Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to align supplier strategies with production needs. \nAnalyze supplier capacity, lead times, pricing, market trends, demand signals, and supply risks to support sourcing decisions. \nNegotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, minimum order quantities, stocking agreements, blanket orders, and long-term supply agreements. \nSupport supplier issue resolution related to defects, delivery delays, nonconformance, and recurring performance concerns. \nMaintain accuratesupplier, pricing, contract, and commodity data in applicable systems. \nThe candidate will be expected to perform additionalduties as assigned to support the team and organization. \nRequired Qualifications \nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a relatedfield. \n5+ years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management in a manufacturing environment. \nExperience managing supplier negotiations, supplier performance, sourcing strategies, and cost reduction initiatives. \nStrong understanding of manufacturing supply chains, supplier lead times, material planning, cost drivers, and production support. \nAbility to make practical sourcing and supplier decisions within definedscope without relying on Engineering for every implementation detail. \nStrong analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. \nExperience with electrical components, switchgear components, controls, relays, transformers, busway, copper, sheet metal, fabricated parts, or related power distribution materials. \nExperience in electrical equipment, power distribution, switchgear, industrial manufacturing, or engineered-to-order manufacturing. \nExperience with supplier developmentandlocalization \nProficiencywith ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and supplier performance reporting tools. \nDemonstrated career ambition with a track recordof growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization \nWorking Conditions \nManufacturing and office environment. \nMay require occasional travel to suppliers or IEM facilities. \nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, production demands, and supplier constraints. \nCompensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. \nWhy Join IEM\nAt IEM, you’ll join a team that powers some of the world’s most ambitious projects.
