We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Federal Staff Reporting Analysts with strong expertise in military writing, federal documentation standards, report development, grading-rubric design, Department of Defense procedures, and compliance-focused communication to contribute to an advanced AI training and federal-reporting evaluation project.

Selected professionals will create and review authentic federal reporting materials, develop high-quality reference responses, evaluate written submissions, and help establish rigorous standards for AI-generated staff reporting across federal and military contexts. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Federal Reporting & Staff Writing

• Create and refine authentic federal and military reporting materials

• Develop Weekly Action Reports (WARs), Situation Reports (SITREPs), after-action summaries, and executive briefings

• Apply appropriate federal terminology, structure, tone, and reporting conventions

• Produce clear written summaries reflecting real-world operational and administrative requirements

• Maintain strong standards for factual accuracy, clarity, and audience suitability

Reference Responses & Reporting Artifacts

• Develop high-quality written responses based on provided prompts and source documentation

• Create input artifacts and golden reference responses for status, activity, and compliance reporting

• Support realistic scenarios across federal agencies and military environments

• Apply appropriate formats for recurring and ad hoc reporting needs

• Ensure reference materials demonstrate expected professional reporting standards

Evaluation & Grading

• Review and grade project submissions using defined evaluation guidelines

• Assess clarity, accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to reporting conventions

• Identify structural, factual, stylistic, or procedural weaknesses

• Provide clear written feedback explaining evaluation decisions

• Maintain consistent judgement across repeated assessment tasks

Rubric & Task Development

• Help create grading criteria and evaluation rubrics for federal-reporting tasks

• Translate staff-writing standards into clear and repeatable assessment frameworks

• Consult on task design, reporting requirements, and realistic evaluation scenarios

• Refine prompts, criteria, and reference materials based on project needs

• Contribute specialised reporting insight to improve AI-training workflows

Federal Documentation & Collaboration

• Apply experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to official reporting formats

• Support review of memos, presentations, summaries, and related federal documentation

• Explain reporting methodology and documentation standards clearly

• Collaborate remotely with project leads and reviewers through structured feedback cycles

• Maintain professional handling standards for sensitive federal or military reporting contexts

Ideal Profile

• 3+ years of relevant federal reporting or staff-writing experience

• Prior experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense or a comparable federal environment

• Demonstrated experience producing WARs, MARs, SITREPs, after-action reports, executive summaries, or similar documentation

• Background with one or more branches of the U.S. military is highly valuable

• Strong understanding of federal documentation standards and reporting conventions

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to tone, clarity, structure, and compliance

• Experience developing or applying grading rubrics and evaluation criteria

• Ability to articulate reporting methodology and provide structured feedback

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Experience producing official reports, memos, briefings, or presentations

• Understanding of federal compliance and confidential-information handling

• Experience across multiple roles, branches, or reporting environments is advantageous

• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor engagement

• Remote - United States only

• Compensation: $40-$80/hour

• Work will involve federal staff writing, report development, golden-response creation, rubric design, submission evaluation, and AI-output review

• Assignments may include WARs, MARs, SITREPs, after-action reports, executive summaries, status reports, compliance reports, memos, and briefings

• Strong federal reporting experience and familiarity with military documentation standards are central to this engagement

• Project scope, workload, reporting formats, and evaluation criteria may evolve depending on project requirements

• Work must be completed without using classified, controlled, confidential, or proprietary information belonging to any employer, government agency, client, institution, or other third party
