This Sr. Electrical Engineer will serve as a specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the areas of RF, power analysis, and high-speed digital and analog board designs. The person in this position will be responsible for supporting the teams at the Talladega site, providing technical input and consulting services in all phases of the design, manufacturing, and sustainment processes.\n\nResponsibilities and Tasks:\nResponsible for carrying out specific project responsibilities as part of larger program objectives involved in the design and development of products, equipment, or processes. May design and layout complex items\nDevelop specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, and bill of materials, against which designs can be produced. Prepares sub-system performance specifications.\nEvaluate and select optimum design alternatives.\nDetermine design feasibility and ensure that product designs are competitive.\nProvide directions to others who determine appropriate materials and processes for specific component applications.\nLead or conduct experiments to evaluate operating characteristics of products or processes. Execute test and troubleshooting activity.\nEvaluate engineering prototypes and translate experimental results into design criteria.\nDevelop task inputs to engineering project plans and maintain liaison with other departments of the organization.\nRespond to customer engineering queries and advise others on engineering information relevant to the organization's product capabilities.\nProvide technical presentation support and consultation for marketing.\nRepresent the engineering unit in customer or field force contacts, troubleshooting customer application problems.\nUtilize project planning and monitoring methods to ensure timely completion. Assume responsibility for successful completion (Schedule, Performance, Cost) of systems and sub-systems.\nPerform preliminary engineering necessary to confirm plans and programs.\nAssist in assuring the technical soundness of engineering programs.\nSupport the manufacturing process in resolving design problems.\nCollaborate with purchasing in obtaining quotations or bids and recommend the selection of vendors.\nPrepare engineering specifications for major purchases.\nPrepare reports of field tests, startups, or installations as required and write technical instructions. On a project or on-going basis, supervise the work of other engineering personnel.\nContribute to process improvements.\nRecommend to Management to select appropriate and cost-efficient vendors.\nDuring all phases of the design development, manufacturing, and sustainment processes, provide technical input and support to the teams at Talladega in the areas of analogue and digital design and sustainment.\nCompetent in schematic capture, PCB layout, working with external PCB layout service providers,\nPrior experience with two or more of the following: CRTs & optics, HUDs, RF, Radar, Power supply design, firmware, test software, JTAG, ICT, ESS\nAble to self-direct and analyze priorities to drive to improved profits.\ncapable of tracking, managing and reporting leadership status of projects\n\nEducation, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:\nBachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent scientific discipline with 4 -7 or more years of experience to be proficient in the above areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nElectrical or Electronic Engineering degree preferred.\nIncumbents must possess intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.\nPrior experience with two or more of the following: CRTs & optics, HUDs, RF, Radar, Power supply design, firmware, test software, JTAG, ICT, ESS\nHave a strong preference to accomplish goals in innovative and cost-effective ways\nThe successful candidate will have the ability to function and effectively communicate in a dynamic, integrated product team environment, supporting a variety of different programs, and often multiple programs every day.
