and maintainability.\n\nApply AI-assisted development practices while maintaining established coding standards and version control processes.\n\nDevelop automated tests for critical integration and checkout workflows.\n\nMaintain technical documentation covering architecture, configuration, APIs, and deployment.\nRequirements\n\n5+ years of professional PHP development experience, with strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills.\n\n3+ years of hands-on WooCommerce plugin development, including building custom plugins from scratch.\n\nStrong understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce architecture, hooks, actions, filters, and APIs.\n\nProven experience integrating WooCommerce with external systems using REST APIs and webhooks.\n\nExperience developing or customizing WooCommerce payment gateway integrations.\n\nStrong knowledge of PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.\n\nHands-on experience customizing WooCommerce checkout, cart, and customer account workflows.\n\nExperience with JavaScript, AJAX, and modern frontend development practices.\n\nUnderstanding of WooCommerce coupons, discounts, pricing rules, and promotional functionality.\n\nGood knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and reusable component development.\n\nExperience handling asynchronous processing, API errors, retries, and data synchronization.\n\nPractical experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions.\n\nAbility to effectively use AI tools for software design, implementation, debugging, refactoring, and testing.\n\nStrong understanding of AI-generated code, with the ability to independently review, validate, and improve it rather than relying on AI output without verification.\n\nFamiliarity with Git, debugging, automated testing, and secure coding practices.\n\nAbility to independently solve complex technical problems and take ownership of deliverables.\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience developing reusable plugins deployed across multiple WooCommerce websites.\n\nFamiliarity with WooCommerce HPOS, Action Scheduler, and Checkout Blocks.\n\nExperience with React, Gutenberg, or WordPress block development.\n\nExperience with Composer, PHPUnit, PHPStan, or similar development tools.\n\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated plugin deployment.\n\nExperience integrating e-commerce platforms with ERP, CRM, or order management systems.\n\nUnderstanding of payment security and PCI DSS requirements.\n\nExperience implementing complex coupon, promotion, shipping, or dynamic pricing rules.\n\nExperience with agentic AI coding workflows, including planning, implementation, code review, and automated testing.\n\nFamiliarity with integrating AI-assisted development into Git, CI/CD, and automated quality checks.\n\nExperience working with remote teams using Agile methodologies.\n\nContract full-time remote job.
