You’ll set the standard for building the fundamental UI systems that will take us into that future. You’ll own and drive the implementation of key UI materials, working closely with designers, artists, producers, programmers and more.\nResponsibilities\nWork with UI artists and team to create best practices and optimal workflows.\nCommunicate and work closely with UI programmers to develop new engine features.\n\nAnalyze memory and performance throughout a project's development.\n\nCreate efficient and user friendly shaders for use in game.\n\nAnalyze and communicate the technical challenges for UI art and UX design concepts.\n\nResearch and develop prototypes for art pipelines and help bring your coworkers’ ideas to life.\n\nQualifications\n6+ Years of industry experience.\nExpert knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, specifically the material editor and UMG.\n\nAble to collaborate and work well with teams from various disciplines.\n\nTake ownership of shippable quality content/systems that are memory efficient and performant.\n\nAbility to think out-of-the-box to overcome technical challenges.\n\nAbility to self-direct, and be autonomous when it is required.\n\nNice-to-Haves\nWorking knowledge of HLSL or GLSL.\nWorking knowledge of Python scripting or another programming language.\n\nGood knowledge of a 3D modeling application and an image editor.\n\nExperience with current generation platforms (Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5).\n\nExperience with other popular or proprietary engines (Unity, etc).\n\nStrong balance of creative/visual aesthetics and technical skills\n\nOur Commitment to Equal Opportunity \nGearbox Entertainment is committed to ensuring that all team members work in an environment free from discrimination and harassment, and one that reflects the diversity of the world it strives to entertain.
