This role performs accounting functions within established federal financial systems, ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and supports internal control and audit activities.\nEmployment is contingent upon successful contract award and funding.\nThis position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of two (2) days per week on-site in Rockville, MD, with up to three (3) days per week eligible for telework.\nKey Responsibilities\nExecute accounts payable and disbursement functions, including commercial payments, travel-related payments, and interagency transactions.\nProcess and validate financial transactions within a federal financial management system environment.\nRecord and reconcile obligations, de-obligations, and manual financial documents in accordance with federal accounting standards.\nSupport intergovernmental billing and collection activities, including research and resolution of discrepancies.\nPerform reconciliations related to grants, obligations, and payment activities to ensure accuracy and prevent out-of-balance conditions.\nAssist with payroll tax-related reconciliations and reporting requirements, as applicable.\nParticipate in internal control reviews and support audit responses, including documentation retrieval and analysis.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of written procedures and assist in validating system enhancements or upgrades.\nUtilize Oracle-based federal financial modules and related reporting tools to perform assigned tasks.\nProvide responsive customer support to program offices, acquisition personnel, and stakeholders regarding payment and obligation inquiries.\nMaintain compliance with federal information security, privacy, and records management requirements.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related discipline.\nMinimum of two (2) years of experience supporting federal government accounting or financial management operations.\nExperience working within a federal financial management system, preferably Oracle-based.\nFamiliarity with federal accounting structure, including general ledger and obligation management concepts.\nExperience supporting payment processing, reconciliations, or interagency transactions.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nClearance Required: Must have an immediate completed Public Trust Level 4 or higher investigation in the last 4 Years and eligibilty to obtain a Tier 4.\nAbout 2ndWave:\n2ndWave LLC (2ndWave) is a management and technology consulting firm providing a focused set of financial management, program management, and technology solutions to public sector clients.
