The lecturer will also encourage critical thinking, ethical practice and lifelong learning while helping students understand the scientific, clinical and professional principles that underpin pharmacy practice.\n\nThe organisation welcomes an experienced pharmacy professional who demonstrates strong communication skills, academic commitment and a passion for developing future healthcare practitioners.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nThe Pharmacy Lecturer will:\n\nDeliver pharmacy lectures: Teach assigned pharmacy-related subjects using clear, engaging and evidence-based instructional methods.\n\nDevelop teaching materials: Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, presentations, case studies and other learning resources that support course objectives.\n\nFacilitate practical learning: Use relevant examples, demonstrations, discussions and case-based exercises to help students apply pharmacy concepts to real-world situations.\n\nAssess student performance: Develop assignments, quizzes, examinations and practical assessments to evaluate students’ knowledge, skills and progress.\n\nProvide academic feedback: Review students’ work, communicate constructive feedback and recommend strategies to strengthen their academic performance.\n\nSupport curriculum development: Review course content and recommend updates that reflect current pharmaceutical knowledge, professional standards and developments in healthcare.\n\nPromote safe pharmacy practice: Teach appropriate principles of medication safety, pharmaceutical care, dispensing, drug interactions and the responsible use of medicines, where relevant to assigned courses.\n\nEncourage ethical conduct: Guide students on professional ethics, patient confidentiality, responsible medicine handling and the standards expected of pharmacy practitioners.\n\nIntegrate current research: Incorporate relevant scientific evidence, pharmaceutical research and emerging healthcare developments into teaching activities.\n\nMentor students: Provide academic guidance, encourage professional growth and help learners prepare for further studies or careers in pharmacy and related fields.\n\nMonitor academic progress: Identify learning difficulties, maintain accurate assessment records and recommend appropriate academic support.\n\nUse educational technology: Apply digital learning platforms, presentation tools and other appropriate technologies to improve teaching and student engagement.\n\nCollaborate with colleagues: Work with academic staff, programme coordinators and relevant professionals to maintain consistent teaching standards.\n\nMaintain academic records: Keep accurate records of attendance, assessment results, lesson delivery and other required academic documentation.\n\nSupport academic activities: Participate in curriculum reviews, academic meetings, student consultations and other relevant educational activities.\n\nMaintain professional competence: Keep up to date with pharmaceutical research, clinical developments, regulatory guidance and best practices in pharmacy education.\n\nQualifications and Experience\nEducational Requirements\n\nA bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or PharmD) from a recognised institution.\n\nA master’s degree in Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology or a related discipline will be an advantage.\n\nA doctoral qualification or relevant postgraduate training will be beneficial for candidates teaching advanced or specialised subjects.\n\nRelevant professional registration or licensing with the appropriate pharmacy regulatory body in Ghana, where required for the role.\n\nProfessional Experience\n\nDemonstrated experience in pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy or a related area.\n\nPrevious teaching, lecturing, academic tutoring or professional training experience will be an advantage.\n\nStrong knowledge of pharmacy principles, pharmaceutical care, medication safety and relevant professional standards.\n\nExperience developing learning materials, conducting assessments and supporting student development.\n\nFamiliarity with current pharmaceutical research, evidence-based practice and developments in healthcare.\n\nExperience working in a pharmacy, hospital, pharmaceutical organisation or academic institution will be beneficial.\n\nSkills and
