This role offers meaningful industry experience, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to be part of a team dedicated to strengthening and energizing Cincinnati’s urban core.\nJob Summary\nThe Accounting Intern will be responsible for the general accounting for assigned entities in 3CDC’s portfolio of operating, development, lending and predevelopment stage assets. This portfolio includes over 100 entities with various internal and external reporting and compliance requirements. This position will allow the Intern to perform entry level work expected of all first-year staff, as well as take on additional responsibilities as performance allows.\nThis is an entry-level position for the semester. This position will report directly to a Senior Accountant.\nTasks:\nAssists in maintaining all applicable accounting records in accordance with accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.\nEnters accounts payable and receivable and prepares general ledger entries on a regular basis.\nPrepares account reconciliations and asset operating summaries and other internal reporting on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.\nAssists in preparation of semi-annual financial statements, monitoring financial performance to established budgets and projections for the organizations including completing variance analysis using analytical procedures.\nResponds to inquiries from management and other interested parties regarding accounting data, reporting and project investments.\nCompletes special projects, as assigned.\nQualifications:\nMust be an accounting major who has reached sophomore, junior or senior status.\nLicenses, Credentials, Certifications:\nNone\nSkills or Specialized Knowledge:\nProficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nUse and knowledge keying data into accounting software is preferred, but not required.\nMust be able to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.\nPhysical and Mental Demands:\nFrequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.\nAbility to work at a computer terminal for an extended period.\nDigital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.\nAble to speak and hear employees on the phone or in person.\nBody motor skills sufficient to enable employee to move around the office environment.\nAdditional mental requirements: compare, decide direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, and interpret.\nThe ability to work well under stress.\nDisclaimer:\nThis job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.
