The role requires a strong combination of technical understanding and project management capabilities, with the ability to work closely with development, QA, BA, DevOps, business teams, and senior stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Project Planning & Delivery\nOwn end-to-end delivery of Java/Oracle-based enterprise applications.\nDefine project scope, milestones, deliverables, timelines, dependencies and resource requirements.\nPrepare and maintain project plans, sprint plans and delivery roadmaps.\nTrack planned vs. actual effort, timelines and deliverables, identify deviations and drive corrective actions.\nEnsure projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, quality and budget.\nDrive Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.\n2. Technical Leadership & Solutioning\nProvide technical direction and oversight for Java and Oracle-based applications.\nReview and drive technical solutioning before implementation for complex requirements.\nWork with architects and technical leads on application architecture, integration, API design and database solutions.\nReview technical approaches for scalability, performance, maintainability and security.\nIdentify opportunities for application modernization, including microservices, API-based architecture, caching and performance optimization.\nEnsure technical debt and performance issues are identified and addressed proactively.\n3. Java & Application Technology\nStrong understanding of:\nCore Java / J2EE\nSpring / Spring Boot\nREST APIs and microservices\nHibernate / JPA\nAngular or other modern frontend frameworks\nThe candidate should be able to understand, challenge and review technical designs and code-level approaches, even if not responsible for day-to-day coding.\n4. Oracle / Database Management\nStrong understanding of Oracle Database and SQL.\nReview complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views and database objects.\nDrive DB query optimization and performance improvement initiatives.\nIdentify inefficient queries, unnecessary database functions and excessive data processing.\nWork with DBAs on indexing, execution plans, partitioning, materialized views and database performance.\nEnsure appropriate data management, archival and purging strategies are implemented.\n5. API & Integration Management\nDrive development and integration of REST/SOAP APIs and enterprise interfaces.\nReview API design, payloads, response handling, error handling and performance.\nCoordinate with internal and external systems for integration dependencies.\nTrack API development, SIT/UAT readiness and production deployment.\nEnsure proper API documentation and technical specifications are maintained.\n6. Performance & Application Stabilization\nDrive application performance and stabilization initiatives.\n7. Resource & Team Management\nManage development, QA, BA and technical resources.\nDefine resource allocation based on project priorities and delivery commitments.\nMonitor resource utilization and productivity.\nIdentify skill/capacity gaps and initiate hiring or replacement requirements.\nMentor technical leads and team members.\nEnsure adequate backup and knowledge transfer for critical roles.\n8. Stakeholder & Customer Management\nAct as the primary technical/project interface for customers and business stakeholders.\nConduct regular WSR/MBR/project governance meetings.\nPresent delivery status, achievements, risks, dependencies and upcoming priorities.\nManage customer expectations and ensure timely communication of deviations.\nDrive requirement clarification and scope management.\nEnsure formal sign-offs are obtained at key project milestones.\n9. Quality, UAT & Release Management\nDrive the complete SDLC from requirement analysis through production deployment.\nEnsure BRD, technical solution documents, test scenarios and UAT plans are completed.\nCoordinate SIT, UAT, regression and production validation.\nTrack defects and ensure timely closure.\nEnsure production releases follow defined change and approval processes.\nEstablish proper release/version management across DEV, QA/UAT and PROD environments.\n10. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management\nMaintain project RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.\nIdentify delivery risks proactively and define mitigation plans.\nEscalate critical issues with clear impact, ownership and resolution timelines.\nDrive cross-functional teams to closure of critical dependencies.\nEnsure deviations from committed timelines are documented with root cause and revised ETA.\nGovernance & Reporting\nMaintain daily/weekly project dashboards.\nTrack:Planned vs. Actual\nEffort utilization\nSprint progress\nDefect status\nUAT progress\nProduction issues\nRisks & dependencies\nResource utilization\n\nEnsure daily status reporting and timely escalation of deviations.\nEstablish strong delivery governance and accountability across the project team.\nRequired Technical Skills\nMust Have:\n10+ years of IT experience\nStrong Java/J2EE experience\nStrong Oracle/SQL knowledge\nSpring/Spring Boot\nREST APIs\nMicroservices
