Work includes engaging with customers and field sales to provide technical expertise including; gaining customer specific needs/opportunities/insights,\nperforming product and application characterization, application development, and creating technical information. The role requires strong collaboration with product development, product engineering, and marketing and will be heavily focused on New Product Introduction programs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead voice of customer efforts to support new product development programs.\n\nIdentify and communicate future market trends and product needs for the adhesives business.\n\nSupport liquid adhesive dispensing and spray automation.\n\nCreating new application demonstration tools.\n\nTraining customers, sales reps, and international colleagues.\n\nYour Skills and Expertise\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)\n\nTwo (2) years of Application Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment\n\nFour (4) years laboratory environment experience in a private, public, government or military environment\n\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Polymer/Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution\n\nTwo (2) plus year experience working with adhesives\n\nProficient in adhesive test methods and quality systems\n\nExperience in adhesive dispensing/automation equipment\n\nExcellent organizational skills\n\nStrong problem solving / troubleshooting skills\n\nStrong people skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and work with cross-functional team\n\nSelf-directed and internally motivated with proven leadership skills\n\nWork location:\nThis role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week in Maplewood, MN\n\nTravel: May include up to 15% domestic/international\nRelocation: Not authorized\nMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).\nSupporting Your Well-being\n3M offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially.
