The Manufacturing process is complex using high-value capital equipment and it involves a mix of mechanical, electrical and process engineering technologies. The site manufactures a variety of ‘Filtering Face-piece Respirators’ and ‘Reusable Respirators’ as part of 3M’s Personal Safety Division. The site has a high emphasis placed upon equipment availability and adherence to world class standards of operation and maintenance\nThe Impact You’ll Make in this Role\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer at our 3M Aycliffe Plan t in County Durham, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.\nHere, you will make an impact by:\nInitiating, leading and coordinating projects in your assigned manufacturing area aimed at productivity improvement, quality improvement, waste reduction, cost reduction, safety improvement and manufacturing strategy.\nProvide day to day technical support for your assigned area, working closely with a cross functional team.\nResponsible for generating and maintaining product and process documentation, to comply with plant registered standards.\nTaking ownership for an assigned manufacturing process with regard to process variation, quality, waste and unit cost.\nGather and analyse production data to ensure area targets are met and drive improvements.\nYour Skills and Expertise\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:\nDegree level in an Engineering discipline.\nKnowledge of manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, TPM\nPrevious experience in manufacturing environment\nKnowledge of statistical methods and software\nSound numerical analysis skills\nExperience of leading process improvement projects\nExperience of problem solving for manufacturing issues\nAbility to communicate effectively at all levels across the organization and to facilitate cross-functional groups for problem solving activities\nHighly motivated with the drive & energy to lead and influence change\nGood team player able to work well with & influence others\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\nAbility to consistently deliver against targets\nAbility to plan and deliver on project schedules\nHighly enthusiastic with aspirations to learn and develop\nJob Specifics\nLocation Information - based at 3M Aycliffe - The role will be office based but a significant proportion of the working week will be spent observing and interacting with processes on the shop floor. \nWorking pattern - Full -Time 36.5 hours per week - standard days\nDoes this opportunity and our innovative 3M culture align with your career aspirations?
