With a diversity of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.\nThis position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.\nThe Impact You’ll Make in this Role:\nAs a Plant Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.\nHere, you will make an impact by:\nMaintaining, repairing, and protecting assets in the 3M Brownwood facility\nWorking with engineering and production personnel during troubleshooting, modification, fabrication, machining, welding and repair of plant utility and process equipment\nPerforming routine preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment such as drives, motors, pumps, overhead hoists, boilers, compressors, rotary equipment, air handling equipment, and plant process/support equipment\nTroubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, AC/DC electrical systems, PLC’s, HMI’s, motors, controls, VFD’s and related equipment\nAssist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determining long term solutions for equipment issues to improve reliability\nComplete other duties as assigned or necessary including the willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and to be on-call\nYour Skills and Expertise:\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:\nApplicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.\nPossess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution\nFour (4) years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a multi-craft mechanical/electrical or controls maintenance position\nApplicants meeting the basic qualifications may be requ ired to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\nTwo (2) year technical degree/diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in a multi-craft technology program\nExperience troubleshooting and repairing the following types of equipment in a manufacturing environment: motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive systems and related components, valves, brakes, and clutches\nDemonstrated proficiency working with electro-mechanical equipment such as pumps, AC/DC motors, motor drives, PLC troubleshooting, etc.\nAdvanced troubleshooting and repair experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in an industrial environment.\nExperience in Industrial lasers\nDemonstrated strong problem-solving and computer skills.\nThis position may require working overtime, working weekends, and working holidays, as needed.
