Here, you will make an impact by:\nSupporting global and regional NPI efforts in scaling up and commercializing new tapes adhesives in consumer electronics industry.\nLeading or supporting cross-functional teams to drive cost, quality, service and safety improvement projects and metrics as well as problem-solving projects.\nManaging documentation of change management for key projects and tasks, including Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Product and Process Experiments (PPE), Management of Change Requests (MOC), participating in quality investigations, CAPAs, and any other operational changes or tasks that need to be executed.\nDetermining cost savings and supply chain improvement opportunities and helps prioritize within the product sub teams.\nSupporting the quality team in reducing customer complaints, improving the cost of poor quality, and help investigate and mitigate unexpected issues as they arise.\nSupporting the manufacturing plants in their effort to resolve safety issues and preventively work to make the production areas safer and eliminate lost time incidents.\nHelping develop long-term strategies for support of various operational activities and priorities.\nWillingness to be on-call in the event of severe service or quality issues.\nYour Skills and Expertise\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:\nPhD degree in science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) \nFour (4) years of experience in a private, public, government, or military environment in one of more of the following areas: gathering material process data, computer added design, product information, or material property information\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\nMaster's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, from an accredited institution.\nExperience in one or more of the following: coating and drying of films, mixing operations (including high shear processes), process optimization, unit cost modeling, other manufacturing processes\nMinimum three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving\nUtilization of the Six Sigma methodology\nMinimum of three (3) years on New Product Development and/or Commercialization Teams\nMinimum of three (3) years on Quality Improvement and/or Cost Reduction projects\nWork location:3M Center in Maplewood, MN.\nTravel: May include up to 10% domestic or international\nRelocation Assistance: Is not authorized\nMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).\nSupporting Your Well-being\n3M offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially.
