This role combines hands-on machining with troubleshooting, testing new approaches, and finding practical ways to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency.\nYou'll work closely with machinists, programmers, and engineering teams to investigate production issues, test solutions, and turn successful improvements into repeatable processes.\nThis is more than a traditional machining role.We're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, experimenting with new ideas, and improving the way things are done.\nWhat You'll Do\nTroubleshoot machining issues and identify the root causes of recurring problems.\nFind ways to improve machining quality, cycle times, tooling, and productivity.\nTest new machining methods, tooling options, and programming approaches.\nOperate CNC mills, including 5-axis machines, to test and validate improvements.\nHelp resolve technical machining challenges and support production teams.\nWork with machinists, programmers, and engineering teams to implement process improvements.\nDevelop and document practical machining standards and best practices.\nEvaluate results and use what you learn to make machining processes more reliable and efficient.\nWhat You Need (Required Qualifications)\nEducation\nA machining diploma, trade certification, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience.\nExperience\nAt least 3 years of CNC machining experience.\nExperience troubleshooting machining problems and finding practical solutions.\nExperience improving machining processes, tooling, quality, or cycle times.\nExperience working with others to resolve technical issues or improve manufacturing processes.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of CNC machining, ideally including 5-axis milling.\nWorking knowledge of G-code and CAM software.\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.\nA hands-on approach to testing ideas and validating results.\nAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with different teams.\nOther Requirements\nMust be legally eligible to work in USA.\nMust be able to work on-site in Wilmington, NC.\nWhat Would Be an Asset\nExperience with CNC lathes or Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).\nExperience in precision manufacturing, aerospace, or medical device manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement methods.\nExperience testing new machining strategies, tooling, or cutting parameters.\nExperience documenting machining trials or process improvements.\nAbout You\nYou're a hands-on problem-solver who enjoys figuring out how things work and finding ways to make them better.\nYou have a strong background in CNC machining and enjoy tackling challenges that require both
