You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate accounting records and timely reporting. In addition, you will support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of finance processes.\nYou will work closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, treasury, controlling and business teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.\nKey responsibilities\nPerform and support GL accounting activities for Belgian regulated entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.\nTake ownershipof assigned monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting deliverables.\nPrepare, review and validate journal entries, accruals, provisions and other accounting adjustments.\nPerform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of outstanding items.\nCoordinate and monitor intercompany accounting activities, reconciliations and dispute resolution with relevant stakeholders.\nSupport statutory reporting requirements and contribute to the preparation of financial statements and disclosures.\nActively participate in internal and external audits and coordinate the provision of required documentation and explanations.\nMonitor accounting controls, identify risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.\nSupport Finance, Controlling, Tax, Treasury and business stakeholders in addressing accounting matters.\nParticipate in standardisation, automation and digitalisation initiatives within accounting processes.\n Ensure the review, approval and accurate posting of supplier invoices in accordance with internal procedures and accounting policies.\nProvide back-up support for Payroll activities when required.\nEnsure accounting procedures, documentation and process narratives remain accurate and up to date.\nYour Profile\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.\nMinimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in General Ledger Accounting, preferably within an international environment.\nStrong knowledge of Belgian GAAP; exposure to IFRS is considered an advantage.\nSolid experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.\nProven experience in balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting and financial controls.\nExperience supporting audits and financial reporting processes.\nStrong understanding of Payroll accounting, Treasury and operational accounting processes.\nAdvanced knowledge of SAP or another ERP system.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nHigh attention to detail combined with the ability to maintain a broader financial perspective.\nAbility to work autonomously, manage priorities and meet challenging deadlines.\nContinuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nFluent in French or Dutch with a good working knowledge of English.\nOffer\n Salary: a competitive salary package, year-end bonus, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (€10 per working day) and a bonus based on group results. \nInsurance: group insurance, hospitalisation insurance and ambulant care for the whole family. \nVacation: you will be entitled to 20 vacation days and 13 additional vacation days. \nSocial fund: Year-end vouchers, birth and marriage allowances.
