This role oversees a hybrid technology environment spanning data centers, virtualization, Microsoft technologies, storage and backup systems, identity services, and multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP.\nThis leader will drive infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, automation, resiliency, security, and cost optimization initiatives while ensuring technology platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The Director partners closely with Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Application Development, Network Services, and business leaders to deliver highly available and reliable technology solutions that support enterprise growth and innovation.\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\nStrategic Leadership\nDevelop and execute the enterprise Infrastructure Platform and Engineering Services strategy, roadmap, and operating model.\nLead infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives aligned with business priorities.\nServe as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology investments, risks, emerging technologies, and infrastructure strategy.\nEstablish governance frameworks, technology standards, operational best practices, and service excellence metrics.\nBuild, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering and operations teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nManage strategic vendor relationships, sourcing decisions, and technology partnerships.\nDevelop workforce strategies, succession planning, and technical career development programs.\nPlatform Services Management\nProvide leadership and oversight for enterprise infrastructure platforms, including: Data Center Operations Compute Infrastructure VMware Virtualization Microsoft Windows Server Platforms Active Directory and Identity Services Microsoft 365 Infrastructure Services Exchange Online Storage and Backup Platforms Enterprise Monitoring and Observability Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Server Lifecycle Management\nEnsure platform availability, reliability, scalability, and operational performance.\nDrive infrastructure standardization, lifecycle management, and operational efficiency through automation and self-service capabilities.\nMaintain enterprise backup, recovery, resiliency, and compliance requirements.\nCloud Services Leadership\nLead enterprise cloud strategy, architecture, governance, and operations across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nDrive cloud migration, modernization, and cloud-native adoption initiatives.\nEstablish cloud landing zones, security baselines, governance frameworks, and architectural standards.\nChampion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, and DevOps best practices.\nPartner with application teams to accelerate adoption of cloud-native solutions and services.\nOversee cloud cost management, financial operations (FinOps), and resource optimization.\nEnsure cloud environments meet enterprise standards for performance, resiliency, scalability, and security.\nOperations & Service Delivery\nOwn operational excellence for enterprise infrastructure and cloud services.\nProvide executive oversight for infrastructure operations across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.\nEnsure availability of mission-critical services through proactive monitoring, incident management, escalation processes, and on-call support models.\nEstablish and manage KPIs, SLAs, and service performance metrics.\nLead major incident response, disaster recovery, and infrastructure restoration efforts.\nDrive continuous service improvement through automation, standardization, and process optimization.\nOversee capacity planning, technology refresh initiatives, and operational readiness programs.\nEnsure effective change management practices that minimize risk and support business continuity.\nEducation and Experience:\nRequired Education\nBachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\nRequired Experience\n10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud services, or technology operations functions.\n10+ years of people leadership experience managing large, distributed technical teams.\nProven success leading enterprise infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.\nExperience managing large-scale infrastructure budgets, technology investments, and strategic vendor relationships.\nDemonstrated leadership in hybrid data center and multi-cloud environments.\nPreferred Certifications\nAWS Solutions Architect - Professional\nMicrosoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert\nGoogle Professional Cloud Architect\nOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Professional\nITIL Certification\nFinOps Certification\nSpecific Knowledge and Skills:\nDeep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, platform services, and multi-cloud technologies.\nStrong knowledge of: Microsoft technologies and ecosystem Active Directory and identity services Microsoft 365 Windows Server and Linux operating systems VMware virtualization platforms Enterprise storage and backup solutions Monitoring, observability, and infrastructure management tools\nHands-on understanding of AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP architectures, services, and operational models.\nStrong background in cloud governance, Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, DevOps, and platform engineering.\nExpertise in disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.\nStrong financial acumen, including cloud cost optimization, budgeting, and vendor management.\nProven ability to lead complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure transformation programs.\nExceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.\nAbility to influence across technical and business functions and drive alignment on strategic initiatives.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in complex operational environments.\nIf an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
