This role partners with subject matter experts, business leaders, and stakeholders to translate business needs into effective training solutions using adult learning principles and modern instructional design methodologies. The Instructional Designer will create blended learning programs including eLearning modules, instructor-led training, microlearning, and performance support tools that enhance knowledge retention and skill application. This position plays a critical role in building a culture of continuous learning and development that supports 7-Eleven's strategic objectives.\nKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nConduct thorough needs assessments and gap analyses to identify learning objectives and determine appropriate instructional strategies for diverse audiences\nDesign and develop engaging learning experiences across multiple modalities including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), in-person workshops, video content, and job aids\nCollaborate with subject matter experts to extract knowledge and translate complex technical content into accessible, learner-centered training materials\nApply instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy) and adult learning principles to create effective curriculum that drives measurable behavior change\nDevelop storyboards, scripts, assessments, and interactive activities that align with learning objectives and engage learners at all levels\nUtilize authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), or similar platforms to build interactive eLearning modules\nCreate high-quality training resources using PowerPoint, InDesign, and Illustrator to support learner engagement and knowledge retention\nManage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards across all deliverables\nEvaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and performance metrics, and iterate on content based on feedback and data analysis\nStay current with emerging learning technologies, instructional design trends, and industry best practices to continuously improve training quality\nPartner with the 7University team to ensure brand consistency and alignment with organizational learning strategy across all training initiatives\nSupport change management initiatives by developing communication materials and training resources that facilitate adoption of new systems and processes\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Learning and Development, or related field required; Master's degree preferred\nYEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years\nYEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: N/A\nCERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: N/A\nSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:\nProficiency with eLearning authoring tools including Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and Camtasia\nProficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud platform (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)Strong understanding of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Backward Design) and adult learning theories\nSkilled in multimedia development including video editing, graphic design, and audio production using tools like Adobe Creative Suite\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences\nStrong project management abilities with attention to detail and capacity to prioritize competing deadlines\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels\nCreative problem-solving skills with a learner-centered approach to instructional design challenges\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and collaboration tools like Teams or Zoom\nKnowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508) and commitment to creating inclusive learning experiences\nData-driven mindset with ability to analyze learning metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements\nSelf-motivated and adaptable with ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment\nIf an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
