Our team supports every aspect of the 7-Eleven experience, helping to shape our digital products and services for our store associates and US customers alike. \nOur team runs the 7RESEARCH Experience Lab at 7NEXT, our state-of-the-art R&D hub. You’ll partner with the Research Operations Manager, experience researchers, product managers, designers, developers, and other cross-functional teams to help research projects run smoothly, consistently, and responsibly.\nThis internship is designed for someone who enjoys organizing complex work, improving processes, supporting people, and learning how research informs better experiences. You’ll gain practical experience across the research lifecycle, with a primary focus on research operations and a supervised opportunity to contribute to research and insights activities.\nResponsibilities\nCoordinate study logistics, including timelines, scheduling, status tracking, follow-ups, and stakeholder updates.\nAssist with participant recruitment, screening, confirmations, reminders, attendance tracking, and incentives.\nPrepare and quality-check study materials such as screeners, consent forms, discussion guides, surveys, testing links, and session checklists.\nSupport in-person and remote research sessions, including the Experience Lab, equipment, recording workflows, and collaboration spaces.\nOrganize research files and repositories using team standards for naming, documentation, tagging, and access.\nAssist with research-tool administration, project setup, user access, basic troubleshooting, and process documentation.\nMaintain simple trackers or dashboards for study status, recruitment progress, tool usage, and recurring operational issues.\nIdentify workflow improvements and help create templates, checklists, playbooks, and other reusable resources.\nOccasionally support researchers by observing sessions, taking notes, organizing data, conducting secondary research, or summarizing themes.\nComplete an independent internship project focused on improving a research-operations process or resource, with guidance from the team.\nQualifications\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate, master’s, or PhD program in psychology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, human factors, anthropology, sociology, marketing research, information science, design, business, operations, communications, data science, MIS, or a related field.\nCoursework, project, campus, volunteer, or internship experience involving research, project coordination, operations, information management, or data analysis.\nFoundational understanding of user-centered research, customer insights, and how research supports product and experience development.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including professional communication with participants and cross-functional partners.\nComfort working with spreadsheets and shared documents; familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.\nFamiliarity with at least one collaboration, project-management, survey, participant-recruitment, research, or repository tool.\nBasic understanding of interviews, usability testing, surveys, data organization, or synthesizing themes. Advanced statistics are not required.\nAbility to handle sensitive information thoughtfully and follow expectations related to privacy, consent, and confidentiality.\nCurious, proactive, dependable, and comfortable learning new tools and processes.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience coordinating a research study, event, project, student organization, community, or volunteer program.\nExperience creating process documentation, checklists, templates, trackers, presentations, or knowledge-base content.\nExperience supporting participants, customers, clients, vendors, or other external audiences.\nFamiliarity with tools such as Qualtrics, Alchemer, UserTesting, dscout, Maze, Dovetail, Figma, FigJam, Miro, Mural, or similar platforms.\nInterest in retail, digital products, customer experiences, research operations, or service design.\nIf an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
